LL.M. 2 year Masters Degree Course

  • Name of the Course: LL.M.

  • Duration: 2 Yrs

  • Eligibility:

    An applicant for admission to the LL.M. course shall have obtained LL.B. degree of any recognized university by UGC

  • Course Nomenclature: Master of Laws
  • Abbreviation: LL.M.

  • Post Graduate Course: - Semester Pattern

LLM FIRST YEAR

A candidate appearing for LL.M First year Examination will be examined in the following papers:

  1. Compulsory Papers 
  • Paper I: Law & Social Transformation in India                               (100 Marks)
  • Paper II: Indian Constitutional Law: The New Challenges               (100 Marks)  
  1. Optional Papers  

Group A: Human Rights

  • Paper III: Concept and Development of Human Rights                  (100 Marks)
  • Paper IV: Human Rights and International Order                           (100 Marks)
  • Paper V : Protection and Enforcement of Human Rights in   India   (100 Marks)
  • Paper VI: Dissertation (100 Marks)                                                         

Group B: Business Laws

  • Paper III :Law of Industrial and Intellectual Property  (100 Marks)                
  • Paper IV:  Legal Regulation of Economic Enterprises   (100 Marks)              
  • Paper V :Law of Export Import Regulation   (100 Marks)                                 
  • Paper VI: Dissertation (100 Marks)                                                             
LL.M SECOND YEAR

A candidate appearing for LL.M Final Year Examination will be examined in the following papers.

Group A: - Human Rights

  • Paper III: Human Rights of Disadvantaged Groups  (100 Marks)    
  • Paper IV:  International Humanitarian Law & Refugee Law     (100 Marks)
  • Paper V Science, Technology & Human Rights   (100 Marks)                       
  • Paper VI: Dissertation (100 Marks)                                                                  

Group B: - Business Laws                  

  • Paper III: Human Rights of Disadvantaged Groups   (100 Marks)
  • Paper IV:  International Humanitarian Law & Refugee Law     (100 Marks)
  • Paper V Science, Technology & Human Rights   (100 Marks)
  • Paper VI: Dissertation (100 Marks)    
  • Examination system:

    Every paper shall carry 100 marks out of 60 marks for written examination & 40 marks for internal assessment.

    • Class & Seminar participation 10 marks

    • Home assignment  10 marks

    • Tests 15 marks

    • Attendance 5 marks

  • Standard of passing:

    In order to pass an examination, an examinee must obtain not less than 50% of the marks in each paper.

  • ATKT rules:

    The LL.M examination shall be held at the end of each academic year,  probably in the month of April / May.
    In order to pass LL.M degree the candidate has to obtain 50% of marks in each paper. However the candidate who has appeared for LL.M I is automatically promoted to LL.M II year.

  • Award of class:

    50% & above & Less than 60%  ::  Second Class
    60% & above & Less than 75%  ::  First Class
    75% & above   ::  First Class with Distinction

  • Fee structure: 17,000/- p.a.
